SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH:

10am - 12pm: NCMG Ski Swap at the Winthrop Barn: Sell the old gear, buy the new stuff and support the Methow Valley Nordic Team. More info HERE

12pm - 3pm: Ski Touring Clinic w/ Sam and Alan at the CE “Fly Shop”*: Get a first-hand look at the gear you can use for the backcountry, side country and even that crazy sport of “skimo”. Then switch to active mode and take a survey of the different training methods you can use to get fit for the season, including strength exercises and outdoor aerobic workouts. Come dressed for light activity, including some strength exercises and a short jog (~1/2 mile) to a nearby hill to demo ski-imitation movements.

*The “Fly Shop” is our new headquarters, located behind (north of) the Mazama Store courtyard in the old Goat’s Beard building.

5pm - 7pm: Praise Ullr! Party at the Mazama Courtyard with Mazama Store, Goat’s Beard Mountain Supplies and Cascade Endurance: Fire the collective stoke with your friends! Gear raffle and specials at Goat’s Beard, ski movie screenings in the courtyard and food and drinks available through Mazama Store.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH:

9am - 11am: Driveway Butte Hill Climb: The classic returns! Driveway Butte has long provided winter aspirants a chance to test their fitness before the snow flies. Choose your distance: .75 mile/600ft (great for kids!), 2.2 mile/1800ft (the standard), and the new “bonus vert” route of 3 miles/2600ft! All distances are FREE; consider making a donation in lieu of entry fee to your favorite local youth non-profit!

Start times: 9am for .75 mile course, 9:05am for 2.2 mile and 3 mile course
