Summer Training Group!
Welcome to the Summer Training Program! This page has some resources as you get into your training and will serve as the “home base” for any additional information to share during the program. Use the button below to join Slack, to share experiences, ask questions, form meetups, and gain knowledge around topics like injury prevention, nutrition, training, and more. Please make sure that you check your spam and promotions folders for the CE emails, that we’ll send each Monday morning. Once we get going, this page will transition to a Summer Training Blog, where we’ll post weekly emails, Zoom recordings, and other videos that may be helpful for your training.
Getting Started
The first step in your training is to create a TrainingPeaks account. TrainingPeaks is the platform we use for all our coaching; at its simplest, it’s a calendar, but it also has powerful metrics for tracking your fitness and serves as a great training log, to make any notes and observations about your training as you progress. There’s an app and desktop version, and you can connect your account to your watch so that your watch data syncs to the app. Once you create your account, you’ll be attached to our coach account and we can apply your training plan.
Next, please fill out this form so we can apply the correct plan for you, and get to know you a little bit:
Once we get going, we’ll post all of the weekly emails into the Summer Training Blog, which will become our homepage.

Be Curious
Use this as an opportunity to learn how your body responds to training, and what you’re capable of! We often have narratives about what we can and should do, and I invite you to let those go and see what happens when you have fun, and go through the training cycle as an experiment to see what you can do!

Zones
Make sure that during your training easy efforts are easy, and hard efforts are hard. Most of your runs should be at an effort where you can tell a story and not worry about your breathing.
